Clark spent his childhood in Macon, and after high school enrolled at LaGrange College, Georgia, from which he graduated with a degree in the performing arts in 1969.

Before he started pursuing a career in the world of entertainment, Clark served in the Vietnam War as a first lieutenant in the US Army 5th Infantry Division, and the elite 101st Airborne division.

Blake then began to audition, and in 1981 landed his first role, portraying sergeant and policeman in two episodes of the sci-fi comedy series “The Greatest American Hero”, and continued with minor roles in such TV series as “M*A*S*H” (1983), and “Hot Flashes” (1984). He made his film debut in Joel Schumacher’s romantic drama “St. Elmo’s Fire” (1985), and then from 1987 until 1988 portrayed Assistant Warden Clint Rafferty in the TV series “Women in Prison”, which certainly increased his wealth.

He started the next decade with the role of Stenchy the Clown in Bobcat Goldthwait’s comedy crime-drama “Shakes the Clown” (1991), and not long after got one of his most memorable roles, as Harry in the TV comedy series “Home Improvement” (1994-1999), and then as Chet Hunter in the TV comedy-drama series “Boy Meets World” (1995-2000), and also during the ‘90s appeared in the film “The Mask” (1994), which won several prestigious awards, and “The Waterboy” (1998), sharing the screen with Adam Sandler.

In the 2000s, Blake would often work with Sandler, as the two appeared together in such films as “Little Nicky” (2000), “50 First Dates” (2004), and “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” (2007) among other projects, while Blake also had roles in the drama “Bread and Roses” (2000), then romantic comedy “Intolerable Cruelty” (2003), and many others, which certainly added a beneficial amount to his net worth.

After many film roles in the 2000s, Blake decided to try himself as a voice actor, and became the new voice of Slinky Dog in the “Toy Story” series following the death of Jim Varney, and also the voice of Chief in the animated series “Fish Hooks” (2011-2012), which also added to his wealth.

He has made several more screen appearances in the recent years, such as the role of Hal in the comedy drama “Highland Park” (2013), and as Grady in the crime comedy “Johnny’s Sweet Revenge” (2017).

Aside from acting, Blake is known for his stand-up performances; from 1985 until 1992 he featured in a number of episodes of the highly popular “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson”, then in 1993 made an appearance in “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, and in 2005 and 20006 was a part of the “Redneck Comedy Roundup” parts one and two, all of which also added to his wealth.

Regarding his personal life, Blake was good friends with Jim Varney, and after the death of the actor, Pixar searched day and night for someone to replace Jim as the voice of Slinky Dog. Luckily, Blake had a similar voice like Jim, and in no time, he was hired as the new voice of the particular character.

When it comes to his love life, there is no information about it, although he has a son Travis Clark, born in 1985; he is a guitarist and vocalist of the rock band We The Kings.
