Former D.C. police officer Brett Parson, who assisted in mending the divide between the force and the LGBTQ population in the city, was apprehended in Florida on two counts of unlawful $exual contact with a minor.

According to court documents, 53-year-old Parson is being held without bond at the Palm Beach County jail. Authorities claim that he was visiting his parents when he was apprehended in Boca Raton.

The 16-year-old allegedly admitted to authorities that he and Parson met on a dating app, exchanged “explicit” pictures of one another, and planned to meet up in Coconut Creek, close to where the child lived.

According to court documents, a judge set Parson’s release bond at $50,000, or $25,000 for each of the two counts of unlawful $exual contact with a minor, on February 18, six days after his arrest. The Blade was unable to determine at the time whether Parson could afford to pay the requisite $5,000 (10% of the bond) in full.

A check with the Fort Lauderdale Broward County Jail, where the majority of those arrested are kept, revealed that Parson was not a prisoner there as of February 18.
