A Brooklyn police precinct isn’t just drowning in paperwork — it’s totally drenched.
The NYPD’s 72nd Precinct turned into a flood zone Monday — thanks to a key-slinging cop who accidentally triggered the sprinkler system with a bad throw, officials said.
Video of the deluge obtained by The Post shows a sprinkler on full blast inside the Greenwood Heights stationhouse and water pooling on the floor.
The slippery snafu was caused by a set of keys that went astray when tossed, police said.
“This is a complete accident,” an NYPD spokesman said. “A member of the service tossed keys to another member when it accidentally struck a sprinkler head, causing the single sprinkler to go off.”
The sprinkler was quickly shut off and the mishap caused only “minimal damage to the desk area,” the spokesman said.
However, sources told The Post that the unexpected deluge may have also trashed equipment and records.
