Ofner was born in Bruck an der Mur, Austria, on 12 May 1996. He started playing tennis at the age of six. He turned professional in 2015.
Ofner has won three ATP Challenger Tour titles, in Astana in 2018, Puerto Vallarta in 2019, and Prague in 2022. He has also reached the quarterfinals of two ATP Tour events, in Kitzbühel in 2017 and Lyon in 2022.
